The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - We Were Lovers

We Were Lovers

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

There she walked,
All bright lights and sunshine,
Soft angelic sounds around her,
And me relieved to have found her,
Her eyes of green seemed divine,
Lateron we talked
About love, life and love lost,
Sighting her anguish, I placed a kiss,
Upon her gentle brow,
She never wondered how,
Or if our aquaintance would go amiss,
We were lovers at all cost.
