The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Thrill
Thrill
by
Richard James Van Der Draaij
As early morning sounds break in
Dust lingers from years ago
Mist covers the garden, while
Little creatures try to smile.
Curtains twitch, eager for the day
Twilight milkman beats the postman
Footsteps on my ancient soul
Timid sun steps up to greet.
Just to merely be alive
Revel in the energies
Just to breathe, inspire, survive
My past and my own maladies.
