The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Sacred Mind

Sacred Mind

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

All around my sacred mind,
A mediocre world I find,
Where genius is not required,
But merely grudgingly admired,
Ancient storms and modern fears,
Leave humanity in tears,
Unequal to the task ahead,
Their highest aspirations dead,
Consuming seems the last of laws,
Is opening some awkward doors,
Behind which lie no reason,
But violence and treason,
And horrors never seen before,
Are waiting -yet to come- in store.
