The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Procession

Procession

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

Slow heavy melodies swing
with the team of bulls along the road
Mary swings from side to side
within her silver house on wheels
Piety on cobblestones
early moon comes peeping
Dreamlike chants reach up to touch
a host of golden starlets bright
Banners wave with signs of faith,
love and adherence to grand designs
So, at once we move along
at one with vibes both proud and still
we'll sleep alright tonight.
