The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Out into the Night

Out into the Night

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

Word for word, the stories told
Shine with vowels made from gold
They speak of ancient times
In lines which cast in rhymes
The episodes of ages
Saints and kind old sages
Softly speaking by a fire
A promised journey of desire
Echooing inside
Where memory must hide
From rest to fury swing my moods
While longing to be in the woods
Running wild and free
With all of nature there to see
My unknown destination
A heavenly sensation
Glowing in the dark
The aura of a spark
The centre of the storm
Where forceful dreams take form
I willingly surrender
To this magic merry splendour
A truly blissful state
With no need to debate
The reasons for this glory
While now my mindful story
Must come towards the end
Where stars their light do send
Out into the night.
