The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Moving Muse

Moving Muse

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

Insanely exciting
The priestess starts to move
Rhythm sweeps me up and down
Spinning 'round the ruins
White feet placed on demon's wings
Her head a serpent's crown,

Eyes that burn a whole in me
And watch the world inside
Howling winds of yesterday
Evaporate to hide
Doubtless countless aeons flow
In and out of night
Dead red moon still snarling down
Siren song from nowhere sings
Face devoid, a frown.
