The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Intoxications

Intoxications

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

Turmoil and intoxications,
A host of different sensations,
Light begetting light.

The tower black against a morbid sky,
Imposing thoughts on passers-by,
I hear a weeping sound.

The sweetest fragrance in the air,
Invites me to renounce despair,
And smile upon my life.

A darkened pool within me draws-
-Me down into a world of flaws,
Where I can barely breathe.

Angelic voices, crystal clear,
Accompany a gliding tear,
Such beauty to behold.

Forgetting what I once have known,
So joyously my mind was blown.

One by one I live my days,
Moving in the strangest ways.
