The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Green Eyes

Green Eyes

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

Here there is no secrecy,
No whisper'd cunning lies,
Our match is made on ecstasy,
While loneliness subsides.

Green fields almost match your eyes,
An eloquence of light,
At night I hear your peaceful sighs,
And my love for you takes flight.

A world of love now opens up,
The wide expanse: our lives,
A nicely overflowing cup,
While hope in love survives.

These days of Spring seem without end,
The flowers, trees around,
Afternoons of bliss we spend,
In something grand we found.

Watch for symbols in the skies,
Birds of prey in love,
They are my love's own wishful spies,
Shall watch you from above.

Until with a smile I shall return,
Love's fires high will burn.
