Glorious
by
Richard James Van Der Draaij
As I peer into those love-bound emerald eyes
In glorious rapture you hand me paradise.
Dreams are made flesh with your smile of a kiss
While I never suspected such heavenly bliss.
A river of thoughts wants to drift back to you
Like a flower awaiting dawn's new early dew.
For it's true that our inner selves hide in disguise
In glorious rapture you hand me paradise.
I could never, in earnest, attempt to dismiss
Such happiness as found in a love such as this.
When we love all the colours unite and turn blue
And I feel that it's right that I need to pursue.
As we celebrate agony's expected demise
In glorious rapture you hand me paradise.
