The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - Evening Song

Evening Song

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

Dream unraveled, thought provoked,
Slowly mesmerizing sun awakes.
Hearts in feeble hopes still cloaked,
Earthly tremors, celestial shakes.

Forever bound by clay-like chains,
Signals still reach down within.
Each breath evokes a world of pains,
We dream and long to flee from sin.

Spring returns to bring to mind
Renewal of our hopeful vows.
I peruse the joys I find
In holly bush and vernal boughs.
