The Web Poetry Corner - Richard James Van Der Draaij - At Night

At Night

by

Richard James Van Der Draaij

Your loving touch, your subtle skin,
Linger here with me,
Our lives had only to begin,
Love's future yet to be.

Stars and moon, dazzling and bright,
Looking down on us,
Your eyes reflect the love and light,
And I would love you thus:

In the evening when it rains,
In the Summer too,
In the morning with a smile,
Words but only few,
In the afternoon as well,
Warm inside and nice,
In Midwinter for a spell,
While our loving melts the ice,

I would love you all the days,
In a thousand different ways,
When you wake up, try to say:
"I need you with me, will you stay?"
