The Mixed Graveyard of Our and of Enemy Soldiers
by
Philip Claude Andermann
Why can't we all be friends now
and fight to raise up our youth together?
We did not inherit the Earth from our parents,
it was loaned to us by our children.
We must soak up the blood that has been spilt on this earth,
and we must reverse the pillage
that has been wreaked upon the very planet;
and we must compete instead - in supporting each other now
in supporting the children
and the foundation for their future.
Nothing is more barbarous than war,
nothing is more tragic.
Nothing is more beautiful than peace.
We must support
the passion and power of youth
to truly protect the future.
