The Thread of Gratitude
by
Philip Claude Andermann
What were the chances of the universe evolving?
the Earth trembling under giants’ hapless steps
according to the butterfly effect?
so that finally we could be conceived out of 100 million tiny competitors?
Therefore we should be incredibly grateful
to all those in the past having come into existence.
Moreover the world is so incredibly interdependent
we should be grateful toward everything that now exists for our sustenance,
taking everything serependitiously in a positive way.
Therefore we should use every atom of our being
by seeking step by step racking our brains and heart
to evolve this world
resiliently and sustainably into a better beautiful place.
We should be grateful that we indeed have the means to do this.
Life only makes sense with a sense of gratitude.
The thread reaches us against all odds
to continue to spin the thread of life
that is actually the web of all life
woven in ultimate harmony.
