You and I, Two Wings
Philip Claude Andermann
Life has no meaning
unless we attain kosen-rufu
which seems impossible.
Like the world situation,
we stand at the edge of a precipice -
and find we have wings.
There are terrible and glorious mountains ahead.
They all emerge from the earth.
We have wings not because we are angels.
But because we find infinite meaning in each other,
and thus ourselves.
We have vowed this ceremony in the air.
Each tiniest step through the dirt
reveals therein the jewels
of an arisen tower-mountain
