The Web Poetry Corner - Philip Claude Andermann - Change
Philip Claude Andermann
We don't want change,
but we change all the time;
we want stability, but nothing
we know and love is stable.
We want to keep what we have,
but we keep looking
for things to acquire.
We want to be here, but we travel on.
According to one Einstein model,
if we keep traveling straight no matter what angle
we will wind up where we started.
But let us then truly see our place,
understand it, understand ourself, through our travels,
for the first time.
Look too deep into your environment
and you will see yourself reflected
If you are reflected in everything,
and you will change everything.
Keep looking at that reflection
and that inextinguishable change will become meaningful.
Keep really looking at others
and you will find your heart
reaching out to others',
to the bond of mutual liberation,
to the bond of the infinite changing web of life.
