Daedalus, master craftsman artist, creator of wings,
flying above the ocean, beneath the sun, of Truth with Icarus freed from the Minoan maze,
the mist of words at first obscuring then revealing,
words at first dis[-as]sembling then re[-as]sembling the world,
each word spangled with meanings, droplet refracting the possible worlds of people, interimpregnating to make them real,
the mist creating, revealing a world through which to fly
on the seeming clearing wind of hope -
you do not fly too close to the sun of abstraction,
to melt the wings like Icarus,
by observing the dance of humanity not yet joining it,
you are stirred by it to dream, onward, create a future world
you reach
to join and share that priceless dance.
