Escape
by
Philip Claude Andermann
As she plunges on
Heart and lungs gasp the world into her
Birthing it life
Impregnate her being
Expelled
Newborn cries of longing
Grasp the world to them
Feeding it hope.
Whither does she run, whom the world disowned?
Any man was her father
Every man was her lover
With every step a different child
A different world could be,
She has made me
Full of hope. I run with her.
