The Mirror of Mercy

The Buddha, seated meditating
toward attaining enlightenment,
seeking to learn,
said he recalled all his past lives.
But instead really he saw
all the people of the Earth
now and future, crying out to learn
of mercy:
IN ALL HE FINALLY SAW HIMSELF.
And rose from the earth.
