One Mother Mirrors Peace
by
Philip Claude Andermann
The other piece
of broken mirror with Ikeda brother killed
in Burma.
Mother's smile turned...
Back turned to hide tears,
a broken pearl necklace,
a world gone... where?
He has the other piece:
always seeking past its darkness
till he reaches that mentor in that night
teaching only self-mastery,
democracy of the heart:
whose mirror reveals the sun...
she'd borne Daisaku
to share.
