The Forest of Dancing Treasure Towers
Philip Claude Andermann
At times we may get impatient thinking,
"What have I ACCOMPLISHED so far?
What have I really done for World Peace, looking st this huge world?"
We may ask what we will have left behind
after we have gone
if the world is so noisy
our traces are easily swallowed up unless we become famous.
How will we know, even if we have children,
that our contribution wasn't as transient as foam on the ocean,
wiped out or erased by this accident or that?
Is it 99% chance that will decide this?
In thinking this way,
I believe we severely belittle our own life.
What we leave behind after we "go,"
what swells and bears our life aloft and onward -
beyond our life and lifetime -
on an indestructible wave
is our APPRECIATION FOR LIFE.
We cannot take fame, riches or poverty with us when we die. What we can take is the appreciation we had that,
no matter how unfamous our destiny may seem to be,
in this tiny second,
even if it is the last shred of life we have left,
it is our incredible CHANCE
to contribute even a tiny seed of hope to the world.
Throughout our lives,
we are endlessly casting seeds of cause out into the world.
Whether amid adversity
those seeds are scorched by despair or mangled by rage or lost in meaningless dark space by accident -
or are embraced by the dark nourishing Earth to spring up in green flame revitalized,
is determined by WHETHER THEY WERE SEEDS OF HOPE.
WHEN WITH GOD WE MAINTAIN HOPE IN THIS, IT BECOMES ABSOLUTELY TRUE.
