Sweet Stout

Take a draft of
Life's strong drink
With the mouth of
A beast that thinks.

There's flood and draught
In changing seasons
Old ones groaning
Young ones whimpering.

Stiff the stuff of
Life's grand chalice
Bubbles bursting in
Frothing malice.

And bitter can the
Stout become, mate
But drink on of its
Sweet non ending.
