Water And Light
by
Neil Heron
Water and light wont bless this city
A pavement away from the bad and pretty
A picture of bliss a head to unmuddle
Poisonous rain forming into a puddle
Then just a moment to pause and reflect
A face I cant trace rewind or reject
Because time keeps on moving
And will soon pass us by
Like the rush hour traffic wishing to fly
Moving through our urban surrounds
A river with bridges and boats to be found
People from places so far away
Finding a new life and deciding to stay
Happy one year a little sadder the next
Calling their friends or sending some text
Summer to wait for when the evenings cool off
Spring to wait for when the parks come alive
A city of seasons four sometimes five
Autumn or fall when the trees change in colour
Then winter just waits like lovers do for eachother.
