The Web Poetry Corner - Mohammad Badri - Forbidden Island

Forbidden Island

by

Mohammad Badri

The islanders
convey shocking news
of their suffering
sound of suppressing
gravity of torturing
surrounded the islanders
with secured eyes
they are starving
food is in scarcity
in fact, islanders are
in hunger strikes
they can't talk
with fused lips
forbidden island is
the wealthiest island
of universe
happiness is a crime
compassion is history
people are denied
inhaling fresh air
love is passed away
passion lost hope
writing is a trespassing
pen is; an exterminator
intellectuals are;
subject to succumb
they are massacred
one after another
or preferred their body to deteriorate
in drenching penitentiary
crying is meaning for primacy
ultimate remedy for illness is mortality
ilitrecy is secret for superiority
justice is buried
in mud of innocent blood
prosperity belongs to prison guard
in shadow of religion interpretation
islanders lost their tolerance
so their hopes
whooped to the world
choose to rise
struggle more
although they are
aware of rewards
so the consequences
roads are uneven
freedom is insight
price is so high
timing is just right!
