Please forgive me for what I am about to say
I can't go on holding back this way
You're on my mind every day and night
I just can't wait to get you in my sight
So I have to tell you how much I care
Even though it seems cruel and unfair
I told you goodbye and left a hole in your heart
So you moved on and made a new start
I knew even then that it was a mistake
But I thought it was something I could forsake
With all the pain and problems I was going through
I thought it best to be alone and try to spare you
What a foolish way fopr me to live
When all you wanted was to comfort and give
I see now how careless and reckless I was
To simply turn away and abandon your love
What can I say now to show you've I've changed
To prove I care for you and won't cause you pain
All I want is one more chance to be with you
I know this time it will be different, I will be true
There is so much I want to say, but afraid of the outcome
Scared you feel nothing and what we had is over and done
I'd rather go on living with this love's possibility
Than to hear you say you love her more

than you ever loved me
