The Web Poetry Corner - Michael Rugg - Forgotten Friend
Forgotten Friend
by
Michael Rugg
A sleepy garden, nettles and thorns,
Echoes of laughter, ghosts of kids.
From broken glass, spiders swinging,
Cobwebs like blankets,
On a Teddy Bear's chest.
A forgotten friend,
Once wanted, once loved.
Whistling winds through empty rooms,
Cold, dark, damp and full of gloom.
Crokked and battered, empty and old,
Shelves of food now shelves of mold.
As the bulldozer swings,
Another house dies,
Nobody hears the Teddy Bear's cries...
NEXT?
Why don't you look at
~lost in a world that will not listen~
