The Web Poetry Corner - McKenna Byrne - Off Course

Off Course

by

McKenna Byrne

What did you do
When I was the tree
And you were the bird -
Did you nest within me?

No.

I knew what you'd do
Because I was the tree
And you were the bird -
You'd fly right over me.

Yes.

You flew right past my head
With your vision obscured
And now you are dead
You poor blind little bird.
