The Web Poetry Corner - Mark Ian Martin - Nature and I

Nature and I

by

Mark Ian Martin

Walking alone, by the park
sun is setting, getting dark
not a flicker, not a sound
there's only nature and me around.

Small warm breeze, twinkling stars
rustling trees, distant cars
then the moon gives me a friend
just a shadow for me to lend.

Until it floats away in time
to let the sun break through and shine
so now I'll have to wait in vain
for nature and I to meet again
