I Like Clouds More
by
Margaret M. Leafe
Clouds mean more to me
Than stars
A cloud has shape and size and color
Stars seem only dots of light.
I can see clouds day or night,
And in moonlight
Clouds hide stars.
I can touch clouds
I can not reach stars.
Clouds shift,
Come and go in endless
Diversity;
Stars march in abiding formation.
I can enter a cloud
And come out again;
A star would eat me up
And not spit out my bones.
I see fables in clouds
Enchanting countries,
Infinite Impressions.
I see
Stars shine, twinkle, glow,
Rise and set.
Clouds are real; their shadows cross my own.
I cannot apprise if stars still exist,
I see stars best in photographs.
I like clouds more.
