Winds Blowing So Strongly Today

Winds blowing so strongly today
blowing away my pain from living a life
as my 55th year ends today and I head into
my next it is good to know that the wind still,
that the wind still purifies and cleanses
and that my optimism is for not for naught
I will get through this eleven month treatment
that the next five and one-half months
will be worth the anguish of the side-effects
that my will to live is stronger than my suffering
the winds that blow here in New South Wales
on the eastern shores of Australia
purify, encourage, cleanse, and heal.
