The Mornings on Mango Tree Hill

by

Mango Tree

I saw white light when my sleepy eyes opened today at dawn
and then, I was moved by
the amazement of the acres below
spreading out for miles
down into the valley towards the
encircling mountains, and,
the big, huge, blue Australian sky
the birds' songs, the first white clouds
no matter which direction I look
it takes the breath out of my lungs
if this is anything like heaven,
it won't matter which one I'm in.
