The Web Poetry Corner - Mango Tree - Rumi

Rumi

Thirteenth Century
Jelaluddin Rumi
Born to this world
A meeting of a mystic
To this new world
One that we all live in
One that we all live in
He offered so much
And, now those of us
That travel in this same world
And, now those of us
That travel in this same world
But, in the twenty-first century
Read these ancient words again
To see what we may find
Morsels that may give some meaning
To clarify this life that we each live
To clarify this life that we each live
But, we shall all find out, as did Rumi
That it comes from within,
That the knocking has been from inside
That it comes from within,
That the knocking has been from inside
And, that if we take this notion
Work deep within the self
Well, each of us will also meet the fire
For, I want burning, I want burning
I want this world to embrace me
Because this world is awaiting
Because this world is awaiting
For each of us to take our place
To boldly step into this soul place
That awaits us, that awaits each of us
That awaits the soul that you, I, we have
This doorway to eternity flickers open
This doorway to eternity flickers open
And, as all doors do because of their nature
This door will close one day.
Don’t wait, don’t wait, don’t wait
Dance now, dance now, freely dance.

NEXT?
Why don't you look at Silence
