The Web Poetry Corner - Mango Tree - Pounding Rain

Pounding Rain

Mango Tree

Huge rainfall today
pounding the earth
torrential in nature
filling water tanks
hiding the birds
even the lazy cows stand still
such a relief after a long heat spell
the clouds protect us on earth
give us a reprieve from the scorching
rays that slip down through the atmosphere
an example of the greenhouse effect in reality
I love the rain, reminds me of so many other places
times in my life that I captured
now, I sit still, taking it all in again,
I love the atmosphere that rain creates
the muse allows me to truly be in my thoughts.
