Life and Strength

Life is about living
having the tenacity to persevere
another day of treatment
for those who are ill and suffering
have distinctive eyes to look out into the world
the picture seen can be blurred
often it is controlled by the pain, the discomfort
but, I realize, that to continue on,
if that is the goal of me, or you
we must trust in something deep within
for this is what will carry us into the next day
and hopefully, to victory, back to health
today, the nausea, the breathing drags me down
today, is a day that I must hold tight fisted onto the strength
that will carry me onto the next day where I may gain some peace.
