The Web Poetry Corner - Mango Tree - Life and Death

Life and Death

by

Mango Tree

When it is quiet, serene, calm
it is easy to be in the moment
when, Ricky choked on a chicken bone
at the age of seven it must have been like this
when Fred died in Vietnam as a door gunner
it must have been like this
when my father leaned over last year
to never wake again
it must have been like this
so, is life or death really that different?
