The Web Poetry Corner - Mango Tree - In the Morning

In the Morning

by

Mango Tree

Why do I sit each morning in front of the keyboard
staring out the myriad of surrounding windows
that look down into the cow filled valley below
I watch the mist dissipate from the weaving creek
birds in flight pass by these windows
the flying foxes have departed at dawn from the mango tree
its leaves sit quietly during the daylight
even the possum has gone to sleep in one of the trees
meanwhile I sit in front of the keyboard
pushing down the keys to form words
thoughts splattered like blood on the screen
it's about opening my soul to the outer world
a means of connecting to you out there I have never met.
