The Web Poetry Corner - Mango Tree - Illness

Illness

by

Mango Tree

To feel this way, to feel this way
With the gut wrenching, the putrid smell
To feel this way, is difficult
To move through a day so slowly
No energy, ho hope of gathering away
Tells me to sleep, to move towards a bed
I try so hard to refuse this advice
But, I now find myself crawling into a bed anyway
Finally, allowing myself, my body, some sleep.
