The Web Poetry Corner - Mango Tree - Green Tree Frog

Green Tree Frog

Mango Tree

Thump
thump
thump
on the tin roof of my office
it's 6:00 AM, dark, dawn is approaching
I walk outside with my torch
scan its beams along the roofline
and looking down to me is the frog
in a moment it leaps
off of the roof and onto a six foot plant
it sits gazing at me, probably wondering
why I have a torch on in the darkness
I leave, back to write this poem.
