A Quiet Day In the Sun

We walked down the cement path
Made by people long ago
A nature path designed creatively
With plants purposely placed
In appropriate places in order
To create a lovely place

We walked along the stream
A quiet, gently flowing meandering
Stream, a winter stream
After all, it was in the dead of winter
Our footsteps were foreign
It looked as if the footway
Was not used anymore
Except by people like us

Who unexpectedly found it
A disguised cement walkway
In the country, between
The roadway and the stream
It was a lovely discovery
A pleasant way to travel
To the village of Channon
On a sunny day, a Sunday.
