The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - I wanna sing you a love song

I wanna sing you a love song

by

M A Heathcote

I wanna sing you a love song
I wanna smile at you
Not just because I feel so blue
Whatís wrong with me?
Because thereís nothing wrong with you.

Oh you hold your head so high
But darling I just wanna cry
Oh wonít someone please tell me why
Youíre so happy when I could die
Oh wonít someone please tell me why
Youíre so happy when I could die.

Who gave you these wings to fly?
Who gave you that heart of surprise?
And a whit that chokes me up
And brings tears to my eyes
When I could only sorrowfully, surmise.

I wanna sing you a love song
I wanna smile deeply into your eyes
And let you know I love only you
But even this is so hard to do
When I'm feeling so blue
Oh wonít someone please
Tell me whatís wrong with me
Oh wonít someone please, please
Tell me why..?
Iím so empty when youíre so high
Oh wonít someone, please
Somewhere please heal me.
