The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - Till we meet in the echoes
Till we meet in the echoes
M A Heathcote
Iím waiting for words a song or a verse
But like ships anchored in the night
I havenít caught sight!
Of another shoreline, another dream
Since I was a boy of eighteen_
And oh thereís still plenty to confuse
So it looks as if Iíll be singing these blues
When Iím forty four still just a young man
But for how much more!
Iím just waiting for words
A song or a verse!
To sing a song never heard!
Music like the dawn chorus of a bird
My love has you not heard
Have you never learned to speak it?
Oh, the Kingdoms in heaven
Are just such another lonely street
Till we meet in the echoes the one
We met with last week.
