The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - Like Rapunzel

Like Rapunzel

by

M A Heathcote

I see a valley
I see the under belly
Of the stars melting_
Where they all began!

I see a shining
Like a barbwire dew
A gravel road, an
Itís leading me from you_

You think? Iím a snake in the grass?
But youíre no better than a shard of glass
That cuts so deep its pain will never pass.
Like a good kick in the arse.

Other men also want to look
Yah, over, and right through, yah
And spin those patterns that took
Yah; out on a limb, like Rapunzel,
(Let down your hair")

Let me touch your milk white skin
Let me be the one
To show you how much I care
(Let down your hair")
Let me be the one
To climb that tower
(Let down your hair")
Let me be the one
To take you
Like the trinkets of a flower
(Let down your hair")
Let me be the one
To unbolt a heavens fiery power
(Let down your hair")
Let me touch your milk white skin

Let me be the one
Silken in a web of starlight once again
(Let down your hair")
Let me be the one
Let me be the one
Oh, I see you in your darkened liar
Your eyes are strung
Like beads of honey
Like Rapunzel
Girl, I only wants you to be my honey.
