The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - Immortality

Immortality

by

M A Heathcote

God is gracious with his time
He is always yours and mine
God consigns each starry-light to shine!
For all men’s requisite, time...

Like a dog humble or child
Yapping; loudly in his minds peace
Love longing truly beguiled.
"God, she’s in bits and pieces"

God, she says her prayers "overdue"
Both holding on to me, and you:
Trying not to chide the morning’s dew
The evening’s lance that, cuts her through.

Although at times lord she swears
He understands her points of view...
And likely stays and cares
She does now question if he and you.

Are really, really, truly, truly, truly, true
Cause sometimes he the faithless
With her faith can be faithfully, untrue.
As if, pain is rule-less.

As if, hurt had no shadows
Lord, why is it so ebony dark!
Open the floodgates to the ark
Lead a pathway through the narrows.

Lead them together side by side
To you lord; keep them faithful...
Lord vouch safe his heart his bride
Vouch his soul loves council.

Immortality be yours and mine
God is gracious with his time
He is always yours and mine
God consigns each starry-light to shine!

For all men’s requisite, time...
