The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - If my love were like a siren

If my love were like a siren

by

M A Heathcote

If my love were like a siren
In the oceans of my heart
Singing like the whales
Id be clinging to the dark
Driving those chains apart!

If my love were a mermaid
Or some Caribbean island soul
I would sell as a seashell
My own driftwood soul
Not to drowned alone!
