The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - An hour of your time

An hour of your time

by

M A Heathcote

An hour of your time
Donít make it a crime
If you say youíll be mine

Somewhere deep inside
Arrives a truth that doesn't lie
That our love should never die

Deep beneath your eyes
A pearl swimmer dives
Like a spy without disguise

Heís injured & heís hurt
Waiting for a word
To console his depleted world

A patriotic thinker
Heís got his finger
On the trigger

Doesnít know
Which way to go
Doesnít care to live alone
So spare a minute on the phone
Invite him willingly to come back home
When your terms arenít just your own
You can make love & grow old
And together fight the cold

Itís in our hearts the truth arrives
I can read it azure in the skies
Before souls became a mirror
And lies gravitated in our eyes

Somewhere deep inside
Arrives this truth that doesn't lie
That our love should never die

Deep beneath your eyes
A pearl swimmer dives
Like a spy without disguise

Heís injured & heís hurt
Waiting for a word
To console his depleted world

An hour of your time
Donít make it a crime
If you say youíll be his
Oh youíll be hid
Youíll be mine
For all time!
