The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - The grave

The grave

by

M A Heathcote

The grave has a peace
A child might bless
But I to my bed,
Would never find rest!

The grave has a charm
Where bees nest form
An amber flower
In a concave skull:
But Id in my own head,
Id eat all them suckers dead.

The grave has silence
We fear not tread
In case this silence
Is real and read...
But if you stepped on me!
Ill give you a shiver...
The quiver of a bee!
