The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - Gods garden of sunshine

Gods garden of sunshine

by

M A Heathcote

O" What a flowering alpine
Gods garden of sunshine.
O" What stars buttercup gold?
Easter bonnets behold?
Dancing over the daffodil hill
Strawberry lips in the spring chill.

O" what a joyous childish world
The robin holds warmly abreast
O" How green fires the berries nest?
From its shell when hurled.
Singing chastely into spring song
Crisp out of hawthorns May white throng.
