The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - If her knight is half so gallant

If her knight is half so gallant

M A Heathcote

A princess is waiting beneath a midnight痴 bower
In the morning she値l be wearing a frock like flower
All anew in a dazzling-dew starlit wondrous; dawn
She値l be dancing spryly forth in step like a faun
Singing her songs about a loves lost maidenhead
Joyous and sprightly on a daisy white bedspread
She値l have dreamed the gaze a star runs-through
Touched an oceans wave and felt the worlds imbue
She値l have sensed the alluring powers of the vine
Tasted its portents virtuous it痴 passionate, entwine
She値l have ruby-red sorrel sores too her knees
But she値l still dance like a fairy princess to please
And please she will if her knight but rides so gallant
And game as his steed is a pace untiringly ardent.
