The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - The cradle of the chosen!
The cradle of the chosen!
M A Heathcote
Touch, how "plainly the mountains sit
In a horseshoe sleigh of snow
Smell, how" oblivion reverberates, in it?
When pragmatic sluice winds blow...
Hear, how" raucous the rooks, festoon
As they garland the cedars peak.
See, how" they marvel in black costume
Blindly; when cliff-hangers confess defeat!
Taste, how" these viscous flakes must exalt
Fleshless; without their senses frozen:
Dissolved of all burden, the weight of salt
Palpitate on this! The cradle of the chosen!
