The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - The greyer the storm light folds

The greyer the storm light folds

M A Heathcote

A soft temperance smile brakes
From the bars of the raging sea;
Where wave on salt corrosive wave
Once purged loves sweetest melody.

But age and faith are truer friends
Than youth in all her guise;
Thatís why lover's can allure, amends
From all their cold deceits
Because the greyer the storm light folds
The deeper and brighter love burns
In her autumn coals.
