The Web Poetry Corner - M A Heathcote - Meet me by the haystack

Meet me by the haystack

M A Heathcote

Meet me by the haystack
With wine and a picnic sack
Lay a blanket on the straw
And kiss me on your all fours
Meet me in the after squall
Of a thunderous summer storm
With your all embracing calm
And let the lightening fall
And light my heart with fire
Thatís all of you I require
Thatís all I can ever dream
In this our pastures evergreen
In these golden changing prairies
Dancing with the fairies
Iím a bird flying in paradise
Resting on a branch in heaven
With you
Waiting on a nightingales song
From you
Waiting on a kiss thatíll
Make my heart rock and fall
To a sheet on the ground;
